Demi Lovato Regrets Her Past, Wants To Become Oprah

Demi Lovato is only 21-years-old, but she has already been through a lot of sh-t in her young life. As you all know, she became one of Disney’s “it girls” and her career took off at a very young age.

The sudden rise to fame was hard on Demi because she felt like she was an adult. She was paying all her bills, making a lot of money and partying like she didn’t have a care in the world, “My parents tried to control me, but I’d be like, ‘Oh really, I’m grounded? Well, I pay the bills.’” The 21-year-old singer told Nylon Magazine.

“They did the best they could. And I think that’s why a lot of young stars struggle when they’re making money or providing for their family. My mentality was ‘Work hard, play hard.’ It was hard to listen to the word ‘no.’”

As most of you know, Demi had to enter rehab back in 2010 to deal with some emotional and physical issues that had been making her life a living hell. And even though she’s glad she went to rehab, she doesn’t want to be remembered for going to rehab,

“I would like to separate myself from being the girl who overcame her issues, or the Disney chick who ended up in rehab while she was still on Disney. I don’t want people to hear my songs on the radio and be like, ‘Oh, that’s the girl who cut herself.’”

She explained to the magazine that she’s looking to get past all that. She even admitted that she has plans to be a “younger Oprah.”

“I want to host my own show and be a younger Oprah. I want to write songs for other artists. I want to be an author. I want my own makeup line, and my own skincare line. I want to do a lot more philanthropy work, and for a while there I thought I wanted to go to law school.”

Geez, is there anything she doesn’t want to do? I’m all for chasing your dreams, but she’s going to have to run for a long time to catch all those. All I want out of life is to be able to bite down into a Hot Pocket without burning my mouth.
