Another Celebrity Is Having To Apologize For “Anti-Gay” Remarks

When will these celebrities learn? It’s best just to keep your mouth shut when it comes to your views on gay people. No matter what you say, you’re going to offend someone.

It all started with Duck Dynasty, crossed over to the new ‘Bachelor‘ and now Sherri Shepherd is having to apologize for her comments on gay people.

The View‘ co-host sat down for an interview with Alicia Menendez from Fusion. She talked about a number of different things, but it was only her comments on gay people that made headlines. During the interview, she mentioned how she grew up being a Christian and explained how homosexuality was a sin,

“You grow up being a Christian and you grow up believing homosexuality is a sin; you’re going to hell if you’re a homosexual. This is something that they teach in churches. So it’s something that I grew up believing.

I might not agree with your lifestyle, but I love you. I’m trying to make it into heaven by the skin of my teeth … I don’t know who I’m gonna see. So if you tell me you’re born [gay], I’m not gonna argue with you.”

As you can see, she didn’t say anything offensive. However, everyone is extra sensitive lately after the Phil Robertson debacle, so the 46-year-old was forced to apologize on ‘The View’ yesterday.

“I’d like to say I’m truly sorry to anyone I’ve offended with the viewpoints I express on Alicia Menendez’s Tonight on the Fusion network. My interview was misrepresented, and only a portion of my comments were used as a headline to give the impression that I was condemning members of the LGBT community living in their own truth.

In the interview, I express I was raised as a child to have a certain set of beliefs, but my beliefs have evolved significantly as my own personal relationship with Christ has increased.”

Certainly sounds heartfelt to me, what do you think?
