Mama June Could Lose Her Kids

 Fans of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” are in mourning, while fans of common sense and good television are cheering. “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” has been cancelled, amid allegations that Mama June, the show’s matriarch, is dating a convicted sex offender. TLC confirmed the show’s cancellation and reported that though new episodes had been filmed, they would not be released as they believe June is putting her kids at risk.

TLC has canceled the series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately. Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well being.

The 35-year-old mother of four was reported to be dating convicted child molester, Mark McDaniel. McDaniel was convicted of aggravated child molestation in 2003 and served 10 years behind bars for the crime. June’s eldest daughter, Anna Shannon Cardwell, who is now 20 and married with a 2-year-old daughter, reported that she was the 8-year-old whom McDaniel molested.

While Mama June has denied the allegations, photos have been released recently, showing Mama, McDaniel and 9-year-old Honey Boo Boo (Alana) sitting in a stairwell together. The two have been seen together multiple times, and have even been alleged to have gone house hunting together. What’s next? Is Mama June going to buy this convicted pedophile his own windowless van?

June could now stand to lose custody of not just her meal ticket, but also her other two minor daughters Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, 14, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, 17.

A spokesperson from Georgia’s Division of Family and Child Services reported;

“Generally speaking, when we receive a report that children are living around a sex offender… it would certainly rise to the level of concern of us looking into it.”

The spokesperson went on to state that due to privacy laws, they cannot verify that a case has been opened. They did go on to state “if we thought a child was in harm’s way in any way, shape or form, we would develop a safety plan and make sure the children are not around an offender.”

Call me crazy, but shouldn’t that be Mama June’s job? Way to play into the stereotype, lady.
