6. Wait..was that Miley Cyrus?

Don’t rub your eyes. That is Miley Cyrus. She made a super quick appearance in the pool party scene at the end of High School Musical 2. Apparently, Disney Channel viewers were asked to vote for which Disney star they wanted to see make a cameo in the movie. And since Hannah Montana was just blowing up around that same time, Cyrus won the vote pretty easily.

5. The Invisible Watch

You may have noticed in all three films, Zac Efron looks down at an invisible watch on his wrist. It was supposedly his “signature move,” and it made everyone on set laugh.

Speaking of watches, did anyone notice all those watches on Corbin Bleu’s wrist? The actor explains that wardrobe gave him multiple watches to try on, and as he was testing them out, he thought it would be funny to just wear them all.

4. No Yawning Allowed

When you’re shooting films like High School Musical, it’s important to always keep a certain amount of energy flowing on set. You need big performances, loud voices and wide eyes. So Kenny Ortega came up with a neat idea to keep everyone awake, while also giving back to those in need.

He started a yawn jar, and the stars of the film had to throw money in the jar whenever they were caught yawning. At the end of the shoot, Ortega would donate all the money to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah.

3. Sharpay And Ryan Were Written To Be Black Characters

According to Bleu, both Sharpay and Ryan were originally written to be black characters. They found a pretty good match for the Sharpay character, but they were having a difficult time finding someone for Ryan. That’s when Ashley Tisdale auditioned. They decided to switch things up a bit after her audition with Lucas, which she was allegedly in complete control of.

Lucas explained…

“She was like, ‘I think you should do it like this and then at the end, I’m going to say, “Ryan, grab my bag!” And you’ll go grab my bag.’ And I was like, ‘I can’t believe an actor is giving me notes at an audition. This never happens. This bitch is definitely not going to get it.’ And, of course, when we walked in, I couldn’t help but have that energy with her and I think that’s why we both got it.”
