Danny Masterson Fired From Netflix’s ‘The Ranch’ Following Rape Accusations, Find Out What He Had To Say About It!
If you’re a fan of crappy sitcoms, then you’ve probably been watching The Ranch on Netflix. It’s been on the streaming giant since April 2016, and even though Netflix doesn’t release ratings, we know the show has been pretty successful. It was just recently renewed for a third season.
Unfortunately, one of the stars of the show will not be returning. Danny Masterson, who plays Ashton Kutcher’s older brother on the show, has been fired following rape accusations.
The 41-year-old actor has been under investigation since March when four women claimed that he raped them in the early 2000s. Three of the women reported the alleged assaults to the Church of Scientology. Masterson has denied the allegations from the very beginning.
In a statement released following his termination, Masterson said he’s disappointed in the decision by Netflix because he hasn’t been charged with anything…
“I am obviously very disappointed in Netflix’s decision to write my character off of The Ranch. From day one, I have denied the outrageous allegations against me. Law enforcement investigated these claims more than 15 years ago and determined them to be without merit. I have never been charged with a crime, let alone convicted of one. In this country, you are presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, in the current climate, it seems as if you are presumed guilty the moment you are accused. I understand and look forward to clearing my name once and for all.”
You will still see his character in the second half of season two (set to be released on Dec 15) but he will not return for season three. We knew it was just a matter of time before Netflix fired him. I was honestly surprised they didn’t do it sooner.
No word on the impacts this will have on filming, but we have a feeling The Ranch will be okay. This ain’t House of Cards.
