James Franco Wins Best Actor At The Golden Globes, But One Former Actress Was Not Happy About It…Find Out Why Inside!
If you watched the Golden Globes last night, then you probably have two words going through your mind, “Time’s up!” Those two words were directed toward the men in Hollywood, specifically the men who abused women for years.
Every actress wore black last night and every man wore a pin that said ‘time’s up’ to remind themselves that rapey behavior at the after party would not be approved this year. It was nice to see Hollywood come together, and it truly did feel like a step in the right direction. It actually felt like women had the power last night.
But there was at least one actress who felt like the Golden Globes didn’t do enough. Breakfast Club actress Ally Sheedy went on Twitter last night and basically called out James Franco and Christian Slater.
“Ok wait. Bye. Christian Slater and James Franco at a table on @goldenglobes #MeToo. James Franco just won. Please never ever ask me why I left the film/tv business.”
Franco won the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his role as Tommy Wiseau in The Disaster Artist. His speech was a bit awkward, ’cause he invited Tommy on the stage with him, and well…have a look:
Anyway, back to Sheedy. She wrote another tweet asking why Franco was even allowed in the building, “Why is James Franco allowed in? Said too much. Nite love ya #goldenglobes”
Unfortunately she didn’t back up her tweets with any direct accusations, so we have no idea what she is so angry about. We do know that Franco directed her in an off-Broadway production of The Long Shrift in 2014. I suppose something must have happened between them during that project.
Several publications have reached out to both Sheedy and Franco, neither party has commented on the strange string of tweets.
