The Seahawks Release Richard Sherman with a Touching Video, Sherman Replies with a letter…..BUT THEN…Has to Post Stats For All The Haters Who Say He Has Slowed Down. (VIDEO AND POSTS)
It’s definitely the end of an era. He was drafted in the 5th round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played 7 season with Seattle which is longer than the average NFL career. The rub is that he’s only 29.
Before you throw a pitty party, don’t forget Sherman was paid well. This would have been his final year of a four-year, $56 million contract that carries an average annual value of $14 million. For the 2018 season, he would have been paid $11 million in base salary and $2.2 million in signing bonuses
Last November, Sherman suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon and missed the latter part of the 2017 season, having played in only nine games. Being the 2nd highest paid player on the team, Seattle figured it was a good time to make the cut.
They posted a touching tribute video….the least they can do for getting $11 million back to spend.

Sherman also posted a really kind letter of thanks.

THEN HE HAD TO ANSWER THE HATERS
At 29 it kind of sucks to be called an old man. Apparently some haters thought he lost his step so he had to set them straight. There is nothing that silence haters more than facts; and that’s what Sherman posted.

I’m sure Sherman has a few more good seasons in him, so it will be interesting to see where he lands. Although his letter is full of gratitude, I’m sure he wants to stick it Seattle with another Super Bowl Ring with another franchise. Rumor has it, he might be headed to New England. (GULP!)
