The Cardi B vs Azealia Banks Feud Escalates After Breakfast Club Interview; Cardi Deletes Her Social Accounts. (VIDEO AND LAST POSTS)
The re-emergence of the Cardi – Azealia beef started after Azealia made an appearance on The Breakfast Club. The interview now has over 800K views in just 48 hours. (Full Interview is below in this post).
Basically a jealous-ass Banks, had little to say about her own music, but a lot to say about Cardi B. Charlamagne has a way of getting people to say what is on their mind and that’s exactly what Azealia did. After calling Cardi an “illiterate, untalented rat” and a “caricature of a black woman”, she went on….
“Two years ago, the conversation surrounding black women’s culture was really reaching an all-time high. There was just this really, really, really intelligent conversation going on nationally and then everything just kind of changed and then it was like Cardi B.”
She also said that she felt the bar was lowered for Cardi B. Here is a little snippet.
Of course, in today’s day of Insta-news, a very pregnant Cardi heard what was said and decided to clap back in typical Cardi fashion:
“I’m from the hood. I speak how I speak I am how I am. I did not choose to be famous people choose me! People followed me on Instagram and the people gave me a platform to introduce my talent. I never asked to be a example or a role model I don’t want to change my ways because I’m famous that’s why I just mind my business. This is coming from a woman that bleached her skin but want to advocate. GOODBYE. I’m not apologizing or kill myself because of who I am.”
Cardi B also took issue with Banks’s “illiterate” comment.
“Just because I mix a few words up forget to use commas or misspell a few words,” she wrote, “doesn’t make me illiterate and doesn’t make me stupid.”
Here is the full statement.
While most news stories end the feud there, that’s not where it ended. Azealia had one more fierce clapback. And in my opinion, Cardi had no answers, her feelings were crushed and she then deleted her account. Here was Azealia’s response:
She then deleted her Instagram account.
And before making her twitter account private, she told fans that she will be focusing more on her family, new projects, her man, and pregnancy, and less on this beef with Azealia Banks. “I’m tired of the bulls**t,” she wrote. “I need to enjoy my pregnancy, family, new projects, and my partner. Listen to Invasion of privacy.”
For what it’s worth, Cardi has grown on me and I’ve seen her work. I put Cardi and Tiffany Haddish in the same camp. They both had small opportunities and put in the work to make the most out of their 15 minutes. If it were easy, then everyone from Love and Hip hop who put out an album would have blown up. And sorry to say….Invasion of Privacy is actually really good.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t feel sorry for Cardi, Azealia or any of these millionaires. Because just like Cardi just did; at any time, they can pay their mommas bills, pay their daddy’s bills, cash out and live the rest of their lives in privacy.
Shiidd some of us are getting called worse at jobs we HAVE to go to so our kids can eat. BTW – her Insta isn’t deleted. It’s only paused. Instagram offers too much free exposure and publicity. Just like Tamar Braxton, she will be back.
