Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams Reveals On Instagram That She’s Seeking Treatment For Mental Health Issues
We aren’t all as strong as we look. You take a quick glance at Michelle Williams’ life and you think, “Hm. Seems to be legit.” After all, she recently announced her engagement to pastor Chad Johnson and they seem to truly be in love. She makes posts about him on her Instagram weekly.
But just because there are good things happening in her life, doesn’t mean she is happy deep inside.
The 37-year-old singer went on her Instagram account yesterday to inform her fans she is seeking professional help for her mental health struggles. You can read her message below…
For those who don’t know, Williams has suffered with depression for several years. Back in October 2017, she talked about her struggles in an interview with Women’s Health…
“I thought it was growing pains — I thought that was simply how it felt to be a girl growing into a woman. I also experienced depression for a period of time in college and then again while in Destiny’s Child.”
The good news is Michelle has a strong circle of people around her who are putting nothing but positive vibes out there.
Heck, even Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles left a supportive comment for Michelle…
“Michelle My Belle, I’m soo proud of you! You have given unselfishly of your time and support to so many and i know that you will be the best example of self care which we all need. Keep being a warrior and an advocate for you. I love and support you with all my being … I so love and admire [your] amazing courage.”
Work on you, Michelle! LOVE YOURSELF!
