TMZ “Job Shames” Former ‘American Idol’ Host Brian Dunkleman After It’s Revealed He’s Driving For Uber

Last year, a “job shaming” debacle turned Geoffrey Owens’ life around. The former ‘Cosby‘ actor was working as a cashier at a Trader Joe’s when a fan snapped a photo of him without his permission. The photo went viral, and Hollywood supported Owens by giving him multiple acting roles. He has since quit Trader Joe’s.

And now, former ‘American Idol‘ host Brian Dunkleman is hoping to have a similar story. On Thursday, TMZ published court documents from his divorce filing, and those documents reveal Dunkleman has been driving for Uber since 2016. At one point, he was doing stand-up comedy, but now he’s full-time as an Uber driver.

The report claimed Dunkleman works around 45 hours a week and makes $800 a week, which is not a lot in LA. After the story was posted, Dunkleman jumped on his Twitter account and fired back with…

“I chose to stop doing standup comedy and started driving an Uber so I could be there for my son as much as he needed after our life as we knew it was destroyed. Print that. @TMZ @HarveyLevinTMZ. And I make over a grand on a good week motherf—kers.”

Dunkleman’s girlfriend also jumped on her Twitter account to start posting bizarre #ImInLoveWithAnUberDriver posts…

That’s just weird. Look. I’m sure he’s PRAYING right now that his situation turns out like Owens’, but I don’t know…something feels different about this. Owens was completely blindsided and he didn’t post anything on social media about it. It was just organic, you know? Dunkleman is pushing too hard. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if he told TMZ to run the story.

But at the same time, we can’t blame him for trying to take advantage of this. He has to take the shot. What’s that quote?
