Olympic Ice Skater Denis Ten Dies At Age 25 After Being Stabbed During Robbery

We have some incredibly sad news to report today. Olympic ice skater Denis Ten has died at the young age of 25. According to the reports, Ten was in Almaty, Kazakhstan on Wednesday when he got into a verbal altercation with two robbers who were trying to steal mirrors from his car.

During the argument, one of the men stabbed him and left him unconscious in the street. That’s where pedestrians found him and called for help. He was transported to a local hospital for surgery, but unfortunately doctors could not save him.

The International Skating Union released the statement you see below…

“The ISU is deeply saddened by the news from media in Kazakhstan announcing the passing of Figure Skater Denis Ten. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Denis’ family, friends and fans across the world.”

Ten earned a bronze medal in men’s figure skating back in the 2014 Sochi winter games. It was a huge deal at the time because he was the first Kazakh ice skater to win an Olympic medal.

US Olympian Adam Rippon was friends with Ten. He went on his Instagram account to pay tribute…

Damn. Those robbers went from stealing mirrors on a car to murdering someone. That’s insane. You never know what someone is capable of.
