Former NFL Player T.J. Cunningham Shot And Killed During Argument Over Parking Spot
We have some extremely sad (and infuriating) news to report today. Former NFL player T.J. Cunningham was shot and killed during an argument with a neighbor over a parking spot.
Cunningham, who was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 1996 NFL Draft, had an ongoing dispute with his neighbor over a parking spot. The neighbor, 31-year-old Marcus Johnson, agreed to meet T.J. at the Eaglecrest High School in Colorado to settle the beef.
Well, Johnson brought a gun to this beef meeting, and ended up shooting T.J. multiple times. T.J. later died from the gunshot wounds.
Ultimately, cops say Cunningham was shot multiple times and died from his wounds. Johnson has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder. Cops say they also found the gun.
I would assume the “attempted” murder charge gets changed to straight murder since Cunningham died. Johnson claims Cunningham attacked him earlier in the day, which is why he brought the gun to the meeting.
Cunningham is survived by his wife and five children. He played at Colorado during his college years and the university sent out the statement you see below…

“We were deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the death of T.J. Cunningham. He was a good family man and had a strong passion for working with young people." pic.twitter.com/LKsgivdQ81
Damn. It’s not worth it people!!! You don’t know how crazy the other person might be, so if someone takes your parking spot….LET THEM! If someone cuts you off in traffic, don’t follow them home. Let that sh*t go because you have a family waiting for you back at home.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
