MLB Superstar David Ortiz Shot Inside Nightclub In The Dominican Republic, Video Of The Shooting Inside
Even if you don’t watch baseball, you probably know who David ‘Big Papi’ Ortiz is. He played for the Boston Red Sox for 14 years and became a legend in the city. He led the Red Sox to three World Series titles and even took home the World Series MPV award in 2013.
And not only is Ortiz treated like royalty in Boston, he’s also a living God in the Dominican Republic, where he was born. He often goes back home to visit friends and family.
Ortiz was in Santo Domingo this past weekend. He was meeting with a local rapper at a nightclub when a gunman walked up behind him and shot him in the back. You can clearly see the terrifying incident in the video below…
As you can see, everyone freaks out while Ortiz slowly drops to the ground. According to the reports, the bullet hit him in the back and exited through his stomach. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery, where he reportedly told doctors, “Please don’t let me die. I’m a good man.”
The good news is that Ortiz survived the surgery. The bad news is that it might be a long road to recovery. Ortiz’s assistant told ESPN that there was damage to multiple organs…
Ortiz had to remove parts of the intestines and the colon and remove the gallbladder. His liver was damaged, too.
Remember how we said Ortiz was like a living God down there? Well, there is this video going around the internet, which allegedly shows the gunman being beat the f**k up by the crowd. You can see his face is covered in blood.
I don’t think this video has been confirmed, but it certainly wouldn’t be surprising if this is 100% legit. He’s lucky they didn’t kill him.
(it has been confirmed by police…it is the suspect)
