Chrissy Teigen Forced To Apologize After Joking About Her Mom’s Spending Habits
Damn. Now that the amount of sexual assaults are dwindling in Hollywood, people on Twitter are really having to dig deep to get their apology fix.
Earlier this week, Chrissy Teigen made what seemed to be a harmless joke about her mom on her Twitter account.
“My mom treats her air pods like they’re disposable. buys a few a month. she says they would be easier to not lose if they had….a cord,” she tweeted out to her millions of followers.
The folks on Twitter did not like this display of wealth. People started dropping comments like…
that has horrifying implications for the environment if this is how rich people treat electronics— Riley McCaffrey (@rilesmccaff) November 6, 2019
Spending $12,000 a year on headphones because I am quirky and relatable— Michael D. Flessa (@michaeldflessa) November 7, 2019
i literally have to visit the food pantry every week to get my next meal. overly wealthy people repulse me— hello my name is percy (@SomersaultJade) November 7, 2019
Wait, hold up. What in the Frosted Flakes kinda sh*t is this? You’re blaming your weekly food pantry visits on Chrissy Teigen’s mom buying multiple air pods? People let themselves get distracted by so much sh*t that don’t matter.
After checking her mentions, Chrissy saw the hate she was getting and decided to apologize/explain her joke, ’cause what’s just what people do now…
Oh man I haven’t checked my mentions for a bit and I didn’t realize how many people were super pissed off about this. It was meant as a joke (and exaggeration) about how my mom doesn’t realize air pods are with a cord are headphones but it came across as super tone deaf and icky.
What a wild world we live in. People are just searching for sh*t to offend them. It’s like a challenge at this point. These people going home at night, taking off their shoes and asking their family, “So how many things offended you today, Johnny? 31? Wow. Great job.”
