‘Queen’ Guitarist Brian May Takes Selfie Inside Hospital After Ripping His Butt Muscles To Shreds

Reality check ! For me. No – the Virus didn’t get me yet – thank God. Hope you’re all keeping extra-safe out there. A decision to relax controls doesn’t suddenly make the danger go away. But me ?? Yes, I’ve been quiet. Reason ? As well as getting over-stretched and harassed by too many demands … I managed to rip my Gluteus Maximus to shreds in a moment of over-enthusiastic gardening. So suddenly I find myself in a hospital getting scanned to find out exactly how much I’ve actually damaged myself. Turns out I did a thorough job – this is a couple of days ago – and I won’t be able to walk for a while … or sleep, without a lot of assistance, because the pain is relentless. So, folks … I need to go dark for a while, getting some complete rest, at home. Please, please don’t send me sympathy – I just need some healing silence for a while. I’ll be back – but I need the complete break. OK ? Thanks. Take care out there. Bri

Queen’s Brian May is used to shredding on the guitar, but he’s not so fond of shredding his buttocks.

The guitarist/astrophysicist went on his Instagram account the other day to inform his fans that he was in the hospital. He assured them it had nothing to do with the coronavirus. Instead, he explained a rather odd injury.

May says he tore his butt muscles “to shreds” while doing some extreme gardening.

He explained that he probably won’t be getting much sleep in the coming days due to the extreme pain. We can’t imagine what it must feel like to shred your butt muscles, but it sounds pretty damn painful.

Prior to his accident, the U.K. native teamed up with Queen drummer Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert in April to release a new version of the band’s classic song ‘We Are the Champions.’

All proceeds from the single — which was retitled as “You Are the Champions” — benefited the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

Here’s to a speedy recovery! May shouldn’t feel too bad, though. He’s not the only celebrity to injure themselves while in quarantine.

Modern Family star Ariel Winter managed to cut off the tip of her thumb while cooking.

Winter’s boyfriend had to drive her to the hospital, where she was informed she sliced an artery.

Obviously I was bleeding a lot, but again, it’s my thumb. Like, so many people are in [the hospital] for so much worse and I was like, you know, I was perfectly fine.
