Today I had Emme and Max make me and Alex a sign for the protest. Max told me a few days ago: “you know mom, since you have a following like some of my YouTuber gamers and they ask us to support things and we do, you should do that for George Floyd.” I said, “funny you say that baby, I am planning a few things. Do you want to help by making a sign?” And they did!! 🖤🖤🖤 We talked about how if one person doesn’t have justice then no one does. That this country was built on the belief of freedom and justice for all. We must take a stand for what we believe in and fight against the injustices in this world. So we continue to peacefully protest until there is change. #BlackLivesMatter #GetLoud #CallingAllMamas #TeachThemYoung @arod

They say young people are the future, and if that’s true, well the future should be brighter. Young people are not only leading the fight against gun violence, but also police brutality, racism, and global warming.

We’ve seen young people come together for these recent protests, and in a recent Instagram post, Jennifer Lopez revealed it was her 12-year-old son who encouraged her to post about George Floyd’s murder.

She posted a clip from the massive protest in Hollywood this past weekend, where over 50,000 people marched on the streets together.

In the clip, you can see Lopez and her family (including A-Rod) marching with protesters and holding “Black Lives Matter” signs.

She captioned the post, talking about how Max suggested she use her massive following to speak out in support of the movement…

That’s how you know you’re doing something right as a parent. Or maybe Lopez’s nannies are doing something right. WHOEVER TAKES CARE OF THEM!

These protests are working folks. Real change is starting to happen. It’s heartbreaking that it took so long, but at least there is light at the end of the tunnel.
