Lizzo Calls Out The Body Shamers In “I Am Beautiful” Statement
Lizzo has been battling trolls hating on her weight for her entire life, and the hate has only increased with her rise to stardom.
In a video posted to TikTok this week, the 32-year-old singer told everyone that she works out for herself and not for anyone else.
Hey, so I’ve been working out consistently for the last five years, and it may come as a surprise to some of y’all that I’m not working out to have your ideal body type. I’m working out to have my ideal body type, and you know what type that is? None of your f–king business, because I am beautiful, I am strong, I do my job and I stay on my job.
She then instructed people to worry about their own body. She said it doesn’t matter what all these other people are doing, you should be focusing on yourself.
So next time you wanna come to somebody and judge them, whether they drink kale smoothies or eat McDonald’s or work out or not work out, how about you look at your own f–king self and worry about your own goddamn body.
And she ain’t wrong. Everyone wants to judge and critique on the internet, but no one wants to examine themselves in the mirror. If you don’t have your own house in order, you shouldn’t be telling others how to fix theirs.
I mean, Lizzo is overweight. That’s a fact. Not an opinion. But at the same time, she’s probably in better shape than most of the nerds commenting on her photos.
You can’t be THAT unhealthy and do all this…
