Frank Ocean’s Younger Brother Dies In Fiery Car Crash In California
Some terribly sad news to report today. Frank Ocean’s 18-year-old brother, Ryan Breaux, died in a car accident in Thousand Oaks, California early Sunday morning.
The accident reportedly happened at around 1:30 in the morning. Ryan and his classmate Ezekial Bishop were driving down a road when they lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a tree.
They reportedly hit the tree with enough force to rip the car in half. The car was in flames when emergency officials arrived on the scene. Both Ryan and Ezekial were pronounced dead.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash, but officials are speculating that speed may have been a factor. The speed limit is reportedly 45 mph, but they noted that people often speed in that location because it’s a “nice big stretch of road.”
Ocean has not spoken publicly about this tragedy. We’re assuming he’s asking for privacy though. It’s not easy to lose anyone, but when it’s your 18-year-old little brother? It must be even more difficult.
And our thoughts go out to Bishop’s friends and family as well. Dr. Fred L. Hodge further confirmed the news of Bishop’s death on his church’s social media page.
We have just lost a loved one whom we all loved dearly, my grandson Ezekial Bishop. Please keep us in your prayers as we navigate this difficult season. I will keep you informed as we move ahead but at this time please hold your phone calls for a later time.
We’ll update this post if/when Ocean releases a statement.
