Vanessa Bryant Fights Back Against Her Mom Following Her “Beyond Hurtful” Interview
Vanessa Bryant lost both her husband (Kobe Bryant) and her daughter (Gianna) earlier this year in a tragic helicopter crash. The world grieved with her, but obviously no one could understand the pain she was going through.
On top of that, she’s been having to deal with this during one of the most challenging years in history. And now it’s becoming clear that she’s been doing all this without the full support of her mother, Sofia Urbieta Laine.
Her mother sat down for an interview on Monday with Univision reporter Dave Valdez, and she accused Vanessa of kicking her out of her home in Irvine, California. She also claims she forced her to return the car she had been using.
She told me, ‘I need you to get out of this house.’ She also told me that she wanted her car and she wants it now.
Sofia was vague on the reasoning behind all this. She came across like she just wanted people to feel sorry for her.
Vanessa wasn’t about to let her mother drag her name in public, so she fired back and sent out a statement to the media.
My husband and daughter passed away unexpectedly and yet my mom has the audacity to do an interview on TV talking negatively about me while shedding tears about a car and home that wasn’t in her name. She has removed all her diamond jewelry, emptied her apartment that I provide, and put the furniture in storage to appear as though she is without support.
My husband and I have financially supported her over the past 20 years, and I continue to do so, in addition to her monthly alimony.
She continues by saying her mother has not been physically or emotionally present for her daughters following Kobe’s death.
Going forward, I see what is most important to my mom and it is beyond hurtful. I hope this public airing of our personal relations will stop here.
This sh*t is truly heartbreaking. Some parents just don’t know how to be parents. I mean, this mom has been living off them for 20 years! And she has the f**king audacity to cry out in a public interview, talking about how her daughter won’t pay her bills anymore?
Even if Vanessa did cut her off (which she didn’t) but even if she did, WHO GIVES A F**K! YOU ARE THE PARENT, SOFIA! You’re supposed to take care of your daughter!
