Matt James’ Season Of The Bachelor Will Begin Filming This Month, Get The Details Inside!
As we told you earlier this year, The Bachelor finally decided to have their first Black Bachelor. Fans had been asking for this for years. After all, the show has over 20 seasons and multiple spinoffs. Why were all the Bachelors white?
Anyway, in June of 2020 they announced that Matt James would be The Bachelor for the upcoming 25th season.
Bachelor Nation had already gotten to know the former football player as he is best friends with Tyler Cameron, who came in second place on Hannah Brown‘s season of The Bachelorette in 2019.
He had apparently been on their radar for a year or two now. Many people were happy to see that ABC was finally correcting their mistake of never having a black Bachelor, but some people believed it was a little too late.
This is what James had to say about that…
I don’t think it’s ever the wrong time to do the right thing. We can’t have change until we put that first foot forward. I think a lot of people are in that situation where they’re uncomfortable dating outside their race. It’s a conversation starter for a lot of people. And hopefully again it paves the way for a lot of diverse love stories, because those are beautiful stories.
According to the latest reports, the season will begin filming later this month at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Pennsylvania. It’s a location that has been used before for a two-on-one date during JoJo Feltcher’s season of The Bachelorette in 2016.
The plan is to begin filming this month and start airing episodes sometime in January. That is the same schedule most other seasons have followed, but of course there is a little uncertainty here, thanks to COVID-19. If the virus spreads around the crew, there would be delays.
Should be an interesting season to follow.
