Dad Of The Year Shields His Kids When Gunfire Breaks Out Inside Car Dealership (VIDEO)
Hollywood would like you to believe heroes wear ridiculous costumes, fly around the world, battle aliens, smash buildings, etc.
But really, heroes are everyday people who are just trying to survive in this f**ked up world. Much like Anthony Jefferson. The heroic father was inside a car dealership in the Bronx with his three children when a gunman started shooting.
As you can see in the surveillance video, Jefferson made his three kids get down on the ground and then he tried his best to shield them with his body. His plan worked. His kids escaped unharmed, but he was struck by a bullet in the right thigh. A bullet that probably would have hit one of his kids.
His wife, Danica Jefferson, told TMZ that he’s on recovery road, but he’s currently unable to walk for any length of time, which means he’s out of his two jobs.
He was a painter at a maintenance company and a construction worker in New York City.
Anthony’s been discharged from the hospital, but still has the bullet lodged in his leg, and Danica says he’ll need another surgery in the near future. And, then there’s the trauma on their children. Mom says they’re reluctant to go outside, crying in their sleep and the youngest asks, ‘Why did the man shoot my daddy?’
They’re hoping to get the kids in to see a therapist as soon as possible.
A friend of the couple has started a GoFundMe page for the family and says the money will go to funding Anthony’s medical bills and therapy for his kids, and hopefully therapy for him as well.
