During The “Presidential” Debate Last Night, Donald Trump Told The Proud Boys To “Stand Back And Stand By”

TVST has been around for several years, and for most of those years, we’ve managed to avoid getting too deep into politics. After all, this is a gossip website, you know? People might come here to escape all the political nonsense.

With that being said, this election is different. This election is about defeating evil, and you don’t defeat evil by staying silent.

During the first presidential debate last night, Donald Trump was his most awful self. His face was more roasted, his interruptions were more frequent, and the calls to his racist supporters were more obvious.

Debate moderator Chris Wallace asked Trump during the debate if he was ready to condemn white supremacists, which should have been a relatively simple question to answer. But instead, Trump did everything he could to avoid saying those words directly.

Instead, he deflected and said, “I would say almost everything I see is from the left wing, not from the right wing. I’m willing to do anything. I want to see peace.”

Both Wallace and Joe Biden asked him again to directly condemn white supremacists, but Trump could not do it. Instead, he told the “Proud Boys” to stand by.

Proud Boys — stand back and stand by. But I’ll tell you what. I’ll tell you what. Somebody’s got to do something about Antifa and the left because this is not a right wing problem.

So who are these Proud Boys that Trump instructed to stand by? Well, they’re a far-right collective that Southern Poverty Law Center says is a hate group. They’ve been seen at multiple Trump rallies and they were founded back in 2016.

The group is known for its anti-Muslim and misogynistic rhetoric and describes members as ‘Western chauvinists who refuse to apologize for creating the modern world.’

Members of this hate group celebrated last night when Trump told them to stand by. On the group’s social media account, they posted, “Standing down and standing by sir,” clearly taking his comment as marching orders.

Megan Squire, a computer science professor at Elon University in North Carolina who tracks online extremism, said Trump’s giving the Proud Boys orders was their long-sought “fantasy.’

Proud Boys organizer Joe Biggs also posted after the debate that he was ‘standing by,’ and he said the president ‘basically said to go f— them up.’

It’s clear what’s going on here. Trump is preparing for chaos. It’s the only way he survives. That’s why he’s trying to make people believe mail-in voting is a sham, which it’s clearly not.

It doesn’t matter what Trump says. Vote. Vote. Vote. VOTE. VOTE. VOTE! Your vote will be counted, and it will matter. More than ever.
