Cristiano Ronaldo Tests Positive For COVID-19, Is In Isolation
Well, it looks like we’re currently going through another surge of COVID-19 cases. Around the world, the numbers are going up. Over 30 states in the U.S. are seeing their highest numbers since August.
And on Tuesday, it was announced that soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo tested positive for the virus. The Portuguese Football Federation made the announcement.
Ronaldo last appeared in a match back on Sunday against France, but now he’s in isolation for at least 10-14 days. He hasn’t spoken publicly about the positive test, but the team claims he’s doing well and symptom free at the moment.
The rest of his team tested negative, so they will continue on with their duties.
Ronaldo will not face Sweden in the team’s next game, which is still set to take place on Wednesday, Oct. 14, in Alvalade, Portugal. On Monday, Oct. 12, Ronaldo posed for a photo with his teammates in a selfie shared to his Instagram, the most followed account on the platform. His caption, translated to English, read, ‘United on and off the field!’
Obviously Ronaldo is not the first celebrity to test positive. A number of famous people have contracted the virus, including Tom Hanks, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, and even Donald Trump.
Keep wearing those masks people! There have been a few studies now, which seem to prove the benefits of mask wearing. I know they can be a pain sometimes, but I think they are worth the annoyance right now.
Stay safe out there!
