Cardi B Pulls Out The Receipts To Slam Wiz Khalifa After He Throws Serious Shade Her Way
The 2021 Grammy nominations has everyone all up in their feelings. We already told you about the drama surrounding The Weeknd, but now there is drama circling Cardi B, Wiz Khalifa and Nicki Minaj.
The drama started when Minaj tweeted about losing the 2012 Grammy Award for Best New Artist to Bon Iver.
Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade- went on to inspire a generation. They gave it to the white man Bon Iver. #PinkFriday.
There are a few things wrong in her tweet. Bon Iver is actually a band, with a few white men, and they are pretty talented. But still, this is the ongoing debate. How do you balance everything? At one point does popularity and cultural impact play a role in the awards being given out?
Anyway, Khalifa took Minaj’s tweet and ran with it. He tweeted that he knows how she feels, and when a fan responded talking about how they can’t believe Cardi won a Grammy over Nicki, Khalifa responded with, “Most self made artists have this problem.”
Obviously people took this as a shot at Cardi, so she responded to the tweet by pulling out the receipts.
This was Nikkas in my dms in 2016!They really support you when you grinding at the bottom then it’s a different story when you make it ! pic.twitter.com/AhRr3TTkRC— iamcardib (@iamcardib) November 24, 2020
Ouch. He really ended that message with “and don’t let others take it,” and now he’s out here trying to take it. That’s a bad look.
Cardi wasn’t done. She then questioned why men want to see women fight with one another…
I don’t understand why niggas entertain tweets that pit successful women against each other? Ya not tired of that? Specially when ya was rooting hard when a bitch was at the bottom.— iamcardib (@iamcardib) November 24, 2020
To Khalifa’s credit, he responded by tweeting out, “I still support u. Nothings changed. Your [sic] self made in my book as well.”
So there you have it. All is well?
