Denzel Washington Remembers How Chadwick Boseman’s Wife Watched Over And Cared For Him
A lot of celebrities have died during this truly miserable year, but for some reason, Chadwick Boseman’s death hits the hardest. It was such a shock to everyone, even to his co-stars. To find out that he was privately battling colon cancer for years, it was just hard to wrap your head around.
To think that while he was slowly dying, he was still being a bright light for so many people. Visiting sick kids in hospitals, acting at an insane pace, loving his family, friends and fans. You never heard one bad thing about him.
During a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Denzel Washington talked about working with Boseman in what would be his final film. Denzel was a producer on the Netflix film ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom‘ which is set to be released this Friday.
Washington remembered telling Boseman that he needed to marry his then-girlfriend (now wife) Taylor Simone Ledward.
Credit to him, he kept it to himself, it was nobody’s business. He was there to deliver and he delivered. Certain members of his team knew. His wife was there. They weren’t even married yet.
I used to watch how she took care of him and I actually said to him, I said, ‘Man, you need to put a ring on that finger,’ Because she kept her eye on him and she watched him. I’m like, man she loves that guy. But I didn’t know what we know now.
Washington added that Boseman will live forever.
For those who don’t know, Boseman and Ledward first sparked dating rumors back in 2015. They got engaged in 2019, and at some point got married before his death.
You’ll remember his family stated that he “died in his home, with his wife and family by his side.”
Our continued thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. The world lost a really special man.
