Fans In Alabama PACK THE STREETS After Championship Win…COVID NIGHTMARE!
Alabama Crimson Tide are National Champions yet again. The team crushed Ohio State last night with a commanding 52-24 win, and they finished the season undefeated.
To celebrate, thousands of their fans and students of the university packed the streets.
Just take a look at this…
Obviously this a huge issue right now, thanks to the ongoing pandemic. Currently, Alabama (much like almost every other state) is surging with COVID-19 cases. The state had over 2,000 cases on Monday, which is obviously nothing compared to bigger states like California, but still…it’s a lot for such a small state.
And huge gatherings like this certainly won’t help. Tuscaloosa mayor Walt Maddox told fans last week to avoid celebrating in the streets, but they clearly didn’t listen to his warnings.
There will be a time and place to celebrate, but this is not the time. All of us have friends, family members, people that we know and love who have been impacted by COVID-19. Presently, our hospital is stretched.
But he was talking to a bunch of 18 to 22-year-olds who mostly only care about themselves.
Pandemic or not, I’ve always found the idea of celebrating in the streets after “your team” wins to be strange. It’s not like any of these people did anything to help the team. They didn’t score any touchdowns or train their entire lives for this moment.
The only people who should be celebrating like this are the athletes putting their bodies on the line every weekend.
These people out here acting like they did something. They ain’t done sh*t! Get back in your dorm and disappoint your parents in private.
