Olympic Gold Medalist, Klete Keller Identified in Crowd that Invaded the Capitol. He Wore His USA Swim Team Jacket! D’oh!!
Whoops. The Trump supporters that stormed the Capital building keep showing us just how smart they really are. I’m not sure what they thought would happen or if they didn’t realize that everything is caught on camera….oh wait…a lot of the photos and videos that are being used to capture them have been footage they posted themselves.
Although Klete Keller is not nearly as famous as his teammate Michael Phelps, the 38 year old was still spotted and identified on camera during the now infamous insurrection. Keller competed in the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympic games.
Unlike Keller, his teammates and coaches are real patriots and identified him from photos and videos. His big mistake, was wearing his Team USA jacked that contained the U.S.A. Swimming logo. I’m sure the FBI saw the jacket and then asked who he was. Another mistake Keller made was, he’s 6′ 6″. At that height, it’s kind of hard to hide. As you can see in the video, he stands out like a saw thumb….or a big jackass.
To be fair, Keller looked like a fish out of water. He appears to have no idea what he was getting himself into.
Of course, Keller went and deleted all of his social media accounts that teammates confirmed contained a lot of Pro-Trump propaganda.
It’s still not clear if Keller will face charges, but I’m pretty sure, all ties with the USA swim team will be broken along with any endorsements. Keller has been working as a real estate agent in Colorado Springs, it will be interesting to see if he keeps that job.
Luckily for Keller there is no footage of him committing any violent acts, however just entering the building comes with charges that include unlawful entry and disorderly conduct.
