Former Olympian Shawn Johnson Is Expecting Baby No. 2 With Andrew East

You may remember Shawn Johnson from her brilliant performance in the 2008 Summer Olympics. Standing at just 4’11, Johnson’s bubbly personality made America fall in love with her.

During the 2008 Olympics, she was the balance beam gold medalist and team, all-around and floor exercise silver medalist. It was one of the best years for U.S. gymnastics at the Olympics, and she played a major role in it.

She retired from the sport in 2012. Since then, she’s been on Dancing with the Stars twice and currently has a very successful YouTube channel with her husband (former football player) Andrew East. They have over one million subscribers on their channel, and just the other day, they had major news to share.

They announced this week that they’re expecting their second child together in the summer of 2021. According to their recent YouTube video, they wanted to have another kid right away after their first daughter was born, but doctors told them to wait just a bit, since Johnson had to have a C-section.

Once they got the all clear from the doctor, they started trying again…and it didn’t take long. Johnson had a feeling she was pregnant, and sure enough, the test was positive.

Of course, she couldn’t wait to tell her husband. But the stars had argued that day. So, she went to their gym to apologize, handed him their daughter, told him she had a surprise and gave him the pregnancy test.

Shortly after the exciting news, Andrew tested positive for COVID-19, which was scary in the moment. They didn’t know if that could mean anything negative regarding the pregnancy, but doctors assured them it was okay.

After isolating for 10 days, Shawn and Andrew are ready to celebrate the exciting pregnancy news with their families.
