Vanessa Bryant Shares Heartwarming Letter From Gianna’s Close Friend On The One Year Anniversary Of Helicopter Crash

One year ago today, we were all trying to make sense of the tragic helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna. The world was in shock. No one wanted to believe it really happened.

But it did, and throughout this past year, the Bryant family has been trying to remember, but also move forward.

On Monday, just hours before midnight, Vanessa Bryant went on her Instagram to share a special message she received from one of Gianna’s best friends, Aubrey.

And the letter is pretty emotional, especially if you’re a parent, because Aubrey wasn’t just talking about how much fun she had with Gianna. She talked about how Gianna was a caring/thoughtful person.

She knew when I was having a bad day, and knew just how to make it better. She was generous with her snacks when I forgot mine. She left me notes in my notebook that I cherish. She was incredible.

Vanessa talked about how sweet the letter was and expressed her love and gratitude for Aubrey.

She also talked about how she’ll never understand why/how this tragedy could have happened…

I miss my baby girl and Kob-Kob so much, too. ♥️I will never understand why/how this tragedy could’ve happened to such beautiful, kind and amazing human beings. It still doesn’t seem real. Kob, we did it right. Gigi, you still make mommy proud. I love you!

We don’t understand it either. As we’ve mentioned so many times before, Kobe may not have been at his prime when it comes to physical performance, but his mind? It was as sharp as ever. He was in such a great mindset and had so much more to offer the world.

And his daughter had so much talent. She could have been the first female to play in the NBA…who knows! We won’t get to watch her try now, and that’s really f**king sad.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to their friends and family.
