Malia Obama Has Been Hired To Join Writing Staff On Donald Glover’s Amazon Project
At just 22-years-old, Malia Obama has landed her first staffing gig. The daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama has reportedly been hired to write on Donald Glover’s upcoming Amazon series.
Glover just recently inked a huge deal with Amazon Studios, and this is one of the projects already in development.
The series hails from writer Janine Nabers, who previously worked on HBO’s Watchmen, and is said to center on a Beyoncé-type public figure, per THR, which also reported that Malia was recruited to work on the project.
As some of you may know, Malia has been interested in the world of Hollywood for several years now. She had an internship with the Weinstein Company back in 2017, interned on the HBO series Girls, and was a production assistant on Halle Berry’s CBS show, Extant.
Malia is set to graduate from Harvard University as part of the class of 2021, so she’s well on her way to an extremely successful career.
Oh, and for all you ‘Atlanta‘ fans out there wondering how Glover’s new Amazon deal might impact the FX series, don’t worry. He’s juggling both contracts and ‘Atlanta’ was already picked up for two more seasons. It’s set to begin production in March.
