John Stamos Reveals How He Really Feels About The Olsen Twins Not Returning To ‘Full House’ Sequel
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen got their start on the hit sitcom Full House. They grew up with the show, and their fans grew up with them.
So when it was announced that Netflix was making a sequel ‘Fuller House‘ with the original crew, most people assumed the twins would at least make an appearance. Yeah, they don’t act much anymore, but you would think at least one cameo.
It never happened though. The sequel aired its final episodes back in June of 2020, and the Olsen twins were nowhere to be found.
And during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, John Stamos was asked how he felt about that. Host Andy Cohen asked him if he was surprised the twins never made an appearance on the sequel, or if he knew when they said no the first time, they meant it.
Yeah, that was pretty much it. I mean, you know, we were disappointed, but we understood. I remember Lori [Loughlin] saying to me, ‘They won two or three CFDA [Fashion] Awards.’ That’s like winning two or three Oscars. If you won three Oscars, would you come back and do this? I was like, ‘Eh, maybe not.’
And that’s the thing. The Olsen twins aren’t really actors anymore. They’re renowned fashion designers now. They have made it clear they don’t really have any interest in acting. At least not right now.
In December 2019, co-star Candace Cameron Bure told TVLine that the show’s team never reached out to the Olsens to join the final season, adding, ‘It was very clear several seasons ago that they did not want to do it.’
So there you go. Leave the Olsen twins alone! THEY ARE DONE! The house was full enough already anyway.
But who knows. In 10 years, when they do Fullest House, maybe they’ll return.
