Kanye West Promotes Goodness, Raises $1 Million For DMX’s Family
Kanye West might be highly egotistical, but that doesn’t mean he lacks a good heart. He’s one of those rare self-centered people who still manage to look out for others occasionally.
Most recently, West raised a cool $1 million for his close friend DMX and his grieving family. He did this by the sale of tribute T-shirts.
West, through his Yeezy brand, commissioned Balenciaga to design the T-shirt that, at $200 a piece, sold out within 24 hours over the weekend, according to sources.
The proceeds will be given to the family of DMX, who was remembered Sunday at a private funeral service at Brooklyn’s Christian Cultural Center.
You can check out the shirt below…
And Kanye’s goodness didn’t stop there. He also had a hand in Saturday’s ceremony for the late rapper.
It was reported that Kanye and his Yeezy team designed the stage where the Sunday Service Choir performed, and multiple guests spoke.
As you can imagine, Kanye and X were incredibly close … and while Ye wasn’t seen publicly, that doesn’t mean he wasn’t there. Our sources tell us the contrary is true … Kanye was, indeed, present during the Barclays memorial, but just maintained a low profile.
Say what you want about Kanye (and there is a lot to say) but he does show up when it matters.
