Mila Kunis Admits She Told Ashton Kutcher Not To Invest In Uber And Bitcoin Years Ago
Ashton Kutcher is perhaps best known these days not for his acting work, but his investments in the tech field. He’s become a pretty successful businessman in recent years.
He’s invested in several successful companies during their early stages, and even though he seems to have a talent for it, he still asks his wife Mila Kunis for advice before throwing away money.
During a recent interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Kunis admitted she doesn’t possess that same talent. In fact, she told Kutcher not to invest in Uber and Bitcoin.
The best part about him is he is really smart about including me in everything and making sure that I am aware of everything that is happening. He is also really smart at knowing that, sometimes, you shouldn’t listen to your wife.
Early in our dating, two things came up. He was like, ‘Hey, there’s this company, it’s kind of like a ride share … kind of like a cab company, but anybody can drive the cab. I was like, ‘That’s the worst idea ever.’
And when Kutcher offered to show her the product, she kinda got offended, “You’re going to put me in a car with a stranger? What is wrong with you?” she remembered saying at the time.
Second time, he sat me down and was like, ‘Hey, Babe, I got to explain this thing to you, tell me if I’m crazy,. He’s like, ‘There’s this thing, it’s like mining for money. It’s called cryptocurrency, and there’s this company’—this is eight-plus years ago—’it’s called Bitcoin.’
And I was like, ‘Well, I think this is a horrible idea,’ And he went, ‘Cool, we’re investing in it.’
It all evens out though. Ashton might be the better investor, but Mila probably has the better eye for film roles.
Which is probably why Mila does more acting and Kutcher does more investing.
