Janice Dickinson went on an interview with The Daily Mail to announce she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer. The 61-year-old star reportedly had the news confirmed via a biopsy a couple of weeks ago, though stated she was struggling to process it before she announced it.

“That’s the point when I knew this is serious, when the doctor touched this little lump in my right breast, about the size of a pea, and I went bingo, I have cancer.”

Her specific diagnosis was early stage ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) – a common form of breast cancer that starts in the milk ducts. Dickinson will undergo radiation therapy on the cancerous cells and take a course of medication, likely for the rest of her life, though doctors say her survival odds are excellent due to early detection.
