Dempsey Says He’s Done, 8th Season of Grey’s to be his Last
Patrick Dempsey says he’s out! McDreamy announced that the 8th Season of Grey’s Anatomy will be his last.
I think that’s headline making news, don’t you? Where do I uncover such info? Freakin’ Italian vogue!!
Dr. Shepherd says,
‘I do not know what’s going to happen to the other characters, but for me it’s done.’
Wow! How the… ? What the…?
He is almost the star of the show. That would be like Tony Soprano saying
“I’m done, Good Luck guys”.
NOT QUITE!
Well, right after those comments were released, his camp was all over it, telling USMagazine.com that no decision has been made.
‘He was referring to the fact that his contract is up at the end of next season and we have no idea what the future holds.’
Well Ellen Pompeo’s contract is up as well, so if McDreamy leaves, then guess who leaves with him. They would both probably just get written out, which would be easy enough.
This is where Shonda Rhimes shows’ her business savvy as well as her talent. “Little” Lexie Grey is now a mainstay on the show, so the “Grey” in “Grey’s Anatomy” will still be there. McDreamy is anchored with McSteamy and a host of other now considered “hot” docs so that won’t be an issue. There is enough beef-cake for at least 3 more seasons.
The Show will go on! There is too much money on the table. Trust me.
Dempsey is smart, and is easily avoiding being type casted. He will be making his first action movie debut in this summers “Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon”.
He is also pushing hard for the role as Marvel superhero Dr. Strange! Did you know that Patrick Dempsey turned down the role as “House”. Wow!
