How Much Will Charlie Sheen Make for Reruns?

originalHow much will Charlie Sheen Make on Reruns?

Well I laughed at Charlie for throwing away all that money when he left Two and a Half Men, but I think Charlie gets the last laug.  Although he was officially fired by Warner Bros. and CBS he’s not going to need to collect unemployment any time soon.

Charlie Sheen can reportedly still make an additional $100 million from the show, and that’s being conservative.

How is that possible?

Sheen has made 177 episodes that will go into syndication.  This will result in Charlie getting checks almost forever.  Syndication and global distribution are going to be Sheen’s big moneymakers.  Depending on how Warner Brothers structures the syndication deal, they could be getting around $4 million per show which is typical of a top rated comedy.  What is also typical in these deals is that the leading man will get about 1/8th  of that, or $500K per episode.

Multiply that by the 177 episodes and that gives him about $88.5 million in money just from reruns.  Not doing a thing!!

Forbes reports that Jerry Seinfeld earns between $65 million to $80 million annually from Seinfeld re-runs.

He really is Winnning!!

Two and A Half Men is right now the number one ranked syndicated comedy for adults, as reported by the website TV By the Numbers, which means Amazon, Netflix and Hulu sales which Sheen will get approximately 10% of.

Sheen also reportedly has a “Michael J Fox” clause in his contract, which would allow him to continue to collect his 2 million dollar salary after he leaves the show.  This was done when Michael J Fox left “Spin City”.  Guess who replaced him on that show?  Charlie Sheen.  How creepy.

CBS disputes any such clause and says that Sheen was fired so the clause would not apply.  With our without the clause, Charlie will be cleaning up.
