Amy Winehouse Toxicology Report Reveals No Illegal Substances
Now I know I’m not the only one blown away by this, but the eagerly anticipated toxicology report for Amy Winehouse reveals “No Illegal Substances”.
No drugs were found in her system at the time of her death or immediately preceding it.
Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy’s system at the time of her death. The report reads,
“Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death.”
“The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest in October.”
WTF is an inquest???
Good question.
An inquest is an inquiry including a medical examination by a coroner into the cause of a death that was sudden, violent or suspicious, or occurred in prison.
In Britain, inquests are held to establish the facts whenever someone dies violently or in unexplained circumstances. Winehouse’s inquest is due to begin Oct. 26 in London.
Her final recording, a duet with Tony Bennett on “Body and Soul,” will be released Sept. 14 as a charity single. Bennett will pay tribute to Winehouse on Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.
I’m still surprised…this makes a tragic death, possibly that much more tragic. Stay tuned for more from the inquest. That’s going to be my word of the day!
