Mitt Romney Admits to Pulling a Chevy Chase – Ties his Irish Setter to the Top of the Family Car on a 1983 Vacation.

I still haven’t really understood, why you would put a dog in an “airtight” container. When I first heard the story I thought the dog was dead, but he was very much alive, and according to Romney, enjoyed it.

As the story goes, Mitt Romney tied the family dog on top of the family car for 12 hours as they drove to Canada.  By law in his own state of MA, this is considered cruel and inhumane.  Romney insisted that the dog  jumped up and went into the kennel himself.  He also provided what he calls a “windshield” to help alleviate the constant pressure that the dog would feel.  Experts say that the dog would be extremely dehydrated and tired after a ride like that, noting that at an average of 50 mph the dog would be feeling a constant pressure of a little more then 3 lbs.

As a testament to the candidates appeal, there hasn’t been too many animal activists making a fuss……yet.
