Shia LaBeouf Admits to Dropping Acid To Authenticate a Movie Role.
LaBeouf is starting to be a Hollywood Bad Boy. In the last few weeks he revealed that he is not doing any more studio films, he is going to be doing all his own sex scenes in the new movie “Nympho” and now he reveals that he dropped acid for a movie role.
The latest confession was revealed during an interview with USA today. He explains that he dropped acid in preparation for his role in the indie film, “The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman”. LaBeouf describes it like doing research for the role,
“There’s a way to do an acid trip like “Harold & Kumar,” and there’s a way to be on acid, What I know of acting, Sean Penn actually strapped up to that (electric) chair in ‘Dead Man Walking.’ These are the guys that I look up to.”
Charlie Countryman is an Indie film directed by Fredrik Bond; another in a list of recent projects that LaBeouf is working on after giving up the bigger budget flicks. He explained his rationale,
“I’m done, There’s no room for being a visionary in the studio system. It literally cannot exist. You give Terrence Malick a movie like ‘Transformers,’ and he’s f—ed. There’s no way for him to exist in that world.”
If making Indie films allows you to have sex on set and get high, the pay cut might be worth it. LaBeouf admits that sometimes it gets a little too real,
“Sometimes, it does get real, Too real for a (director) who’s trying to keep a diplomatic set.”
LaBeouf is on a mission to be one of the best actors in the business; On par with Leo Dicaprio or say Russell Crowe.
“All I’m really trying to say in the most politically sensible way is, ‘Thank you so much for giving me the opportunities, I would just like to make movies about people now.’ That’s it…
“If I could give the money back and get all the credibility in the world that I’m seeking, I would do it tomorrow. In a heartbeat.”
Easy to say when you are already filthy rich. The 26 year old LaBeauf is worth $28 Million dollars. Now he can make all the low budget Indie movies he wants.
