Randy Jackson Exits American Idol Leaving Room For Another New Judge
“Yo Yo Dawg, You made it your own”.
We might never here that phrase again. No More Randy Jackson! It has been revealed today that Randy is officially stepping down from the judging table at American Idol. It has also been revealed that he will stay on as a mentor, despite rumblings that he might not be a good fit for that position, but there is fear that No Randy At All would be bad for the show.
This opens up another coveted judges spot. I am hearing that despite Mariah Carey’s (and my) concerns, Nicki Minaj is very much in the running for one of the seats. The shows producers think that the Carey vs Minaj tension will be good for ratings, but if Mariah walks, everyone loses. If I’m Mariah….I’m walking. I repeat my earlier sentiment; it’s insulting for Mariah to be at the same judging table as Minaj.
Despite the loss of all three judges from last season, Idol still wants to go back to the four judge format which means that two seats are still up in the air. They want to fill one with a country music star and the remaining one is still fair game. Kanye West and P-Diddy were being considered but it’s been confirmed that both are now out of it.
I know one thing…they better act fast. Time is running out.
