Christian Slater’s Latest Box Office Bomb Brings in Only 32….People.

Did you know that Christian Slater had a new movie out this year?  Probably not.  Apparently no one knew.  The 43 year old former heart throb released an indie horror flick called “Playback” last March but only managed to pull in $263.  No you did not mis-read.  That’s dollars, not millions.  Now that we have approached the last box office weekend for the year, it looks like Slater will be in the running for the lowest grossing film.

$264 is just ridiculous, however we must be fair.

According to Box Office MoJo the independent film, which was personally funded and had little to no promotion.  was shown in only 1 theater.  However, with an average ticket cost of $8.00 that would mean only 32 people attended over the weekend in that one theater.  That’s still pretty bad.

Before you start the pity party for Slater, he has some big movies due out in the 2013.  “Bullet to the Head” starring Sylvester Stallone and Jaosn Momoa, “The Power of Few” starring Christopher Walken, and “Nymphomaniac” starring Shia LaBeouf to just name a few.

And if that doesn’t stop the sympathy tears – Slater still has a net worth of $40 million.
