Lance Armstrong Confesses

Lance Armstrong Still Banking Hard: Paramount Pictures Acquires Rights for Book Deal and Movie Deal!

If you were starting to feel bad for Lance Armstrong, don’t feel too bad.  Just because his endorsements have stopped doesn’t mean the cash flow will.

Unlike Tiger Woods whose scandal was personal, Lance’s scandal was surrounded by the very thing that made him famous.  Since he can no longer compete, then there is nothing to lose by agreeing to a movie and book deal.  In fact he has everything to gain….at least monetarily.

Paramount Pictures and J.J. Abrams wasted no time getting the movie rights to “Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong” .  With the “rights” come a book and possibly a movie, both which would cover Lance’s rise and fall.  It will chronicle his life from his near death experience with Cancer, to his seventh Tour victory to his fall from grace.

New York Times sports reporter Juliet Macur has already been tapped to pen the book project.  She has personally covered Lance for over 10 years so she is a natural choice for the books author.

J.J. Abrams is an awkward choice to produce the movie, but why not?  This isn’t the first picture deal offered to Lance.  Before his dramatic downfall, Sony had a project on the table with Jake Gyllenhaal lined up to play Armstrong.  In this Paramount Pictures deal, Bradley Cooper has now expressed interest in playing the 7 time Tour De France Winner.

Lance currently has a net worth of $125 Million so let’s not break out the box of tissues for him and his family just yet.
