Richmond, Virginia Police Chief Bryan Norwood Resigns Amongst Chris Brown Community Service Scandal
Nice going Chris Brown!!
Amidst scandal, Richmond, Virginia Police Chief Bryan Norwood has resigned. He was in the center of the controversy regarding the approval of Chris Brown’s community service.
Brown was sentenced to 180 days of community service after being convicted of the infamous 2009 Rihanna beating. After completing a portion of his work in L.A. (581 hours), Brown was allowed to continue his service in his home state of Virginia.
CHRIS BROWN WAS WHERE? WHEN HE SAID HE DID WHAT?
The problem with traveling internationally is that you get that pesky Homeland Security check-in. The same check-in that Chris Brown received when he cleared customs after a trip to Dubai. Records approved by Chief Bryan Norwood say that Chris Brown was picking up trash between 9 AM and 5 PM on Dec. 12, while Homeland security records show that he was clearing customs in L.A. nearly 120 miles away.
The district Attorney was did his homework and was ready to take Brown down, He told the court,
“It would be unreasonable to believe that after a 12-13 hour flight, the defendant rushed through … early morning rush traffic, traveled directly to Richmond in just over two hours, and then worked eight straight hours picking up trash,”
Another such conflict showed that on March 15th when he supposedly picked up trash from 10 AM to 6 PM, Homeland Security shows that he was on his way to Cancun that same afternoon at 4 PM.
I think you get the idea…..and so does everyone else including Bryan Norwood.
Richmond, Virginia’s Mayor Dwight Jones accepted Norwood’s resignation but did not indicate that it has anything to do with the Chris Brown situation,
“As of today I’ve accepted the resignation of Bryan Norwood from his post as chief of police for the city of Richmond,
“He has offered leadership that has brought us a little bit further in our endeavors to improve public safety. In many ways the Richmond Police Department and the city is better off because of his dedication.”
The Mayor indicated that the resignation was “mutual” which might indicate that Norwood was pressured to resign.
Brown will be back in court on April 5th where he might be forced to redo his Virginia community service.
With a net worth of $22 Million, let’s hope that Chris Brown was able to break Chief Norwood off with enough money so he doesn’t have to find another job. ..Or at least find another job right away.
