American Idol All New Judges Next Season?
Well, the big American Idol top 3 performances took place last night and one contestant proved to the front-runner. But before we get into the performances last night, let’s talk about the new rumors coming out of Idol Land. A source that is supposedly closely connected with the show told E! News that Idol producers really want to shake things up,
“Yes, we want to do a whole new panel — but just like last time around, it depends on who we get.” the source told E! News, revealing that the plan is to have all new judges next year, but only if they find the right people to replace them with. According to multiple sources, it is clear that Mariah Carey will definitely not be coming back next year. One source even said that it was “absolutely certain” that Mariah will not be on the show next year. “The others, it depends who we get (to take their place.)” the source said.
Well, obviously getting rid of Mariah Carey would be a smart decision. She has as much personality as a my big toe, so that is the easy decision. What about Randy, though? Randy has been there since day one, they’re not really going to let him go, right? He doesn’t have a lot of personality either, but at lease he has a few catch phrases that make him amusing. I don’t think Idol would be the same without hearing, “SHE’S IN IT TO WIN IT!!!” every damn episode. It’ll be interesting to see what they do next year, and they will have to do something. American Idol ratings are down 22 percent this year, and they’re only going downhill from here. They need to do something to keep up with, ‘The Voice.’
Anyway, enough about the rumors! The top 3 performed last night and they somehow managed to drag it out for two damn hours. Each contestant performed 3 songs and they showed videos of the contestants going home for the first time since entering the competition. All of the hometown videos were extremely emotional, but Kreee’s video was the most heartbreaking to watch. During her visit back home, her and her sister paid a visit to their old family home to remember their dead parents. It was an extremely emotional video that left the judges and audience in tears.
And while Kree might have had the most emotional video of the night, it was Candice Glover who stole the show with her incredible performances. She performed the last song of the night and ended it with a bang. She performed, “Somewhere” from West Side Story, and she received a standing ovation from all of the judges. Even Mariah Carey stood up after the song, which almost never happens because her dresses are usually too tight to stand up in. The judges loved the performance so much that it caused Keith Urban to say this, “If you don’t vote for Candice, call your doctor, you probably don’t have a pulse.”
It’s clear that Candice is the favorite right now.
