Amanda Bynes 5150 Hold Extended For Two Weeks

We told you yesterday that Amanda’s psychiatric hold would probably been extended from 72 hours to two weeks, and now it is official. A judge granted the extra two weeks after doctors explained that they needed more time to properly diagnose her mental illness.

If the judge had not agreed to the extension, Amanda could (and would) have been out of the hospital last night. However, thankfully the judge knew what was best and decided to make her stay an extra two weeks. This will not only give doctors more time with the troubled star, but this will also give her parents time to get conservatorship over her.

It is believed that they will make their plea for the conservatorship sometime today. It won’t be easy to get because Amanda Bynes is not going down without a fight. She already had her lawyer try and deny the two week extension, and she will most definitely have him fight over the conservatorship.

Ultimately, it’s not up to Amanda. If her parents can prove that her condition is so bad that she can’t properly take care of herself, then they will probably be granted their request. And judging by the random fire starting, the soaking her dog in gasoline and dropping down to below 100lbs, it shouldn’t be that hard to prove.

She obviously needs help to get her life back on track and hopefully the court allows her parents to make it happen. When the only person who doesn’t think you have a problem is yourself…that probably means you do have a problem.
