Will Britney Spears Be Lip-Syncing During Her Shows In Vegas?

The 31-year-old singer has faced criticism before for lip-syncing during her performances. You may remember back in 2009 when fans in Australia demanded refunds after complaining that Spears was lip-syncing throughout the entire show.

Well, now there are new reports coming out and they claim that Britney Spears will be lip-syncing during her two-year stay in Vegas.

According to a New York Daily source, “Britney does not sing.” The source also told the newspaper the following,

“She is being paid a lot of money to lip-sync. Her fans are none the wiser, but it is disingenuous of her to take their cash and not deliver a proper performance.”

This would be somewhat surprising news when you consider the fact that Britney will be making over $300,000 per show! You would think that she might sing live for that kind of money, but the source doesn’t think that is very likely…

“She hasn’t sung live for a couple of years. If the crowd thinks they are being cheated than there is likely to be an uproar, but then again look at the success of Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson shows. The performers in that production don’t sing live, and it has been a runaway success.”

We should note that a rep for the pop star has commented on the issue and claims that Spears will be singing live,

“Britney will be singing. As stated before, she is in vocal training — has been for months.”

We’ll see what happens, but I am pretty sure diehard Britney fans won’t care either way. I know most people think Lady Gaga has the most passionate fans, but they obviously haven’t come across a Britney fan out in the wild.

They are f–king nuts, and in their eyes, Britney can do no wrong.
