R. Kelly Is Apparently Engaged To Joycelyn Savage, And She’s Asking The Court To Go Easy On The Singer
Yikes. Aspiring singer/victim of R. Kelly, Joycelyn Savage, has obviously been well groomed by the former R&B singer, because she agreed to marry the dude!
And she’s still trying to fight his battles. The 26-year-old wrote a letter to the federal judge working Kelly’s case, and she referred to herself as Kelly’s fiancee. She asked the judge for a more lenient sentence for Kelly, claiming he’s not the monster everyone wants to believe.
I’m writing this letter in support of Robert in advance of his sentencing, so I can explain to the court that I’m not the victim that the government has portrayed me to be. He’s an all-around incredible person and not the monster that the government has described him to be.
Robert and I are deeply in love and it breaks my heart that the government has created a narrative that I’m a victim. I’m a grown woman and can speak for myself which is why I wanted to provide this letter to the court. He is a great man, with a great heart and deserves to be home with his loved ones who are ready to support him.
Unfortunately for her, the judge didn’t really consider her letter. The judge hit Kelly with a 30-year prison sentence for his alleged sexual abuse/trafficking.
Kelly’s highly publicized trial, which ended last September after six weeks of courtroom proceedings, saw dozens of witnesses testify and accuse the ‘Ignition’ artist of grooming them for sex while they were underage. The accusations spanned from at least 1992 to 2017.
Savage has always been supportive of Kelly, even dating back to 2019, when she defended Kelly in an interview with CBS This Morning. She claimed that no one was being held against their will, and that people simply wanted Kelly’s money, so they were making up lies about him.
Meanwhile, Savage’s parents, Timothy and Jonjelyn, are extremely happy Kelly is finally behind bars.
The parents ‘strongly doubt’ the pair are engaged and would like to reconnect with her to hear the whole story. However, they have not talked to Savage since she left to live with Kelly. Savage’s parents find it strange that she wrote a letter to the judge instead of testifying under oath.
