Austin Butler Reacts To Girlfriend Kaia Gerber’s Ex-Boyfriend Jacob Elordi Landing Role As Elvis

Austin Butler surprised everyone with his brilliant performance as Elvis Presley in the 2022 film, Elvis. The movie got mostly positive reviews, but Butler’s performance got rave reviews. He will almost certainly be nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars. He’s currently up for Best Actor at the Golden Globes.

But get this, he isn’t the only Elvis hitting the big screen. Jacob Elordi recently signed on to Sofia Coppola’s upcoming biopic about Elvis’ wife, Priscilla. Elordi will be playing Elvis in the film, which is very interesting because Elordi used to date Butler’s current girlfriend, Kaia Gerber.

On the Golden Globes red carpet, Butler was asked if he has talked to Elordi or given him any advice.

I just wish him all the best. We haven’t spoken, but I hope he has a great time.

Lol, so basically, “Good luck following my performance.”

Elordi will need all the luck he can get. I have a feeling this is going to be a Michael Fassbender/Ashton Kutcher type situation. You’ll remember Fassbender played Steve Jobs in a biopic in 2015. Fassbender received great reviews for his performance. Meanwhile, Ashton Kutcher also starred as the Apple co-founder in a separate film, but his performance was slammed.

I have a feeling Elordi will be Kutcher in this situation, but hey, stranger things have happened.

For those wondering, Elordi and Gerber dated for one year before breaking up in November of 2021. She began dating Butler back in May of 2022.
