Kelly Clarkson Admits To Feeling Lonely In LA After Rough Divorce, Slams Ex-Husband In New Album
The only artist who does breakup songs better than Taylor Swift? Kelly Clarkson. The 41-year-old singer has been talking about her divorce from Brandon Blackstock for what feels like three years now.
And now, she has finally released an album all about it. When she first announced this divorce album, she said it would cover the good, the bad and the ugly, but fans are pointing out that this album is like 95% ugly.
The “Chemistry” album paints Blackstock as a sunshine stealer and keeper of secrets. She also claims he made it his mission to “bleed her dry” after they separated in 2020.
In one track, titled Red Flag Collector, she talks about how Blackstock nickel-and-dimed her throughout their divorce battle.
Sure, you can have the towels / You can take my money. Drag my name ’round town / I don’t mind, I changed it anyway.
Damn. Okay then. In another track, she admits she can’t believe she stayed in the marriage for so long when Blackstock had so many secrets and insecurities.
In addition to the new album drop, Clarkson also revealed this week that she’s moving her daytime talk show to New York.
I think COVID pointed out a lot of things. A lot of us didn’t make it relationship-wise. Also it just proved I’ve never really liked living in LA. I never wanted to live there in the first place. It was just me and my kids all the way on that coast. All my family lives on this coast. So it just got lonely.
Sounds like Clarkson has searched for a fresh start and has found one in New York City. Hopefully she can find her happy ending one day.
