TikToker VonViddy Posts Goodbye Video To His Followers Hours Before Taking His Own Life
TikTok star VonViddy, real name Joe Muchlinski, typically posts humorous videos on his TikTok. His comedic clips earned him over 100,000 followers and millions of views.
But on Monday, August 21, he posted an unusual video talking about how he wants to be remembered.
Joe talks about the type of guy he wants to be remembered as, citing his music and comedy as a couple of strong points in his life. He also highlights some of his struggles — saying he doesn’t want folks to remember him ‘as an addict and an alcoholic who put his family through hell.’
He goes on to talk about how thankful he is for all the opportunities he’s had in life, noting he has so much love for his fans and wants everyone to have peace.
All in all, I’ve had a terrific life… I have nothing to complain about and I have nothing but peace and love for each and every one of you.
Obviously his fans were concerned because it sounds like a goodbye message, although, it could have just been a goodbye from TikTok. No one knew exactly what was going on.
But now we have learned he committed suicide on Monday, the same day he uploaded the video. His sister, Martha, confirmed the news.
He did lose his long battle with mental illness, and he did take his own life. TikTok meant a lot to him, it gave him joy, it gave him something to laugh at and to make other people laugh at and he really appreciated that.

@martha_merced Joe was my first word. He was my older brother, my only sibling, and this is one of the worst days of my life. I know folks have been concerned since his (Vonviddy’s) last video and deserve some closure.@VonViddy #vonviddy #closure #mentalhealthmatters #mentalillness ♬ original sound – martha merced
